HO127009 - SUSE Cloud Foundry: Cloud Foundry from Your Favorite OS Vendor

Session Speakers
Session Description

"In this hands-on lab, we will discuss how we containerize Cloud Foundry, show how to install it onto a Kubernetes infrastructure with Helm, add on a data service, and deploy an initial multi-component app. We will explain how Cloud Foundry is distributed, deployed and managed using BOSH, and how we've containerized it using fissile—a companion to BOSH that extends Cloud Foundry's reach to the world of Kubernetes. We will also walk you through the different layers that make up a running, highly-available SCF deployment: host Kubernetes nodes, Docker images and a Cloud Foundry stack—all from SUSE. We will include details about the pipelines we use to build all the pieces that make up SCF—base Docker images, package compilation, Kubernetes configuration files and Helm charts—using Concourse and OBS. This is the first top-to-bottom alternative to Ubuntu in the Cloud Foundry arena, and it's all supported by SUSE. The talk will also walk you through the changes that were required to support the new stack and the benefits that come with it."
