"Business processes in large corporations often require agile data management in all business units, in order to optimize the data flow. Interfaces need to be defined and implemented, they have to be used in data transfer and exchange, and they need to be controlled across the entire landscape.
The applications covered in this talk were developed as micro applications. They were containerized using Docker and deployed in a SUSE Linux Enterprise 12-based Kubernetes platform. The result? The deployment was more flexible, peak loads were kept under control, and hardware resources were optimized. Kubernetes plays an important role in maintaining the landscape's agility and scalability.
This talk introduces a Jenkins-driven, continuous integration framework implemented by B1 Systems GmbH and Apollo-Optik Holding GmbH & Co. KG. We will outline a typical micro application's lifecycle at Apollo-Optik—from the first development steps, through testing and deployment, to the integration into the corporation's internal SAP-PI interfaces."
